Grants To Develope Land In Ca Desert?

I have 5 acres in Palmdale CA 1 mile from the paved road, nothing on it. I want to develope it with a house for myself and a farm. Also I would like to put solar power on it. A well is 25,000$ minimum and I need to know where I can go to get a grant. I am a veteran living off of a fixed income and I know that this land once developed would only make property around me more valuable thuis helping Palmdale and the solar power helping the earth. I need to know where to go to find the money without going in circles and wasting my time… Any ideas, I would really appreciate any comments other then negative ones.

What Is The Longest Commute You’ve Taken?

A cool job that I may have is 100 miles away (200 miles roundtrip) near Palmdale. The job is cool, but Palmdale not so much. Is it feasible (it’s been done before, can be sustained) to commute from Santa Monica to Palmdale 5 days a week? (get up at 5am, leave at 6am, arrive at work at 8am, 8-4:30pm, return at 630pm, sleep at 9am). Possible? This means 200 miles / day x 5 days x 4 weeks = 4000 miles / month x 12 = 48,000 miles a year.
