He is in pleasant valley prison in Coalinga, CA. Before they transferred him there he was in Lancaster, CA. His counselor at Lancaster state prison told him just before they transferred him that his official release date was March 1, 2006. Now last week Pleasant Valley is telling him it is not until April 18, 2006. Is there some way I can find out why ? They won’t tell him anything. He has not had any trouble or anything.
How Can I Find Out Why They Changed My Sons Release Date From 3-1 To 4-18 For No Reason?

But I bet it’s nothing more than a clerical error in calculating his time served or else he caught a case while he was in and ended up doing some “dead time”, time that does not count towards his sentence, or lost some accrued “good time”, days reduced from his sentence for good behavior.

I doubt the prison is going to tell you anything. Contact the lawyer who represented your son when he was sentenced to prison.
And it’s difficult for me to believe the prison will not tell your son why the release date has changed. Maybe your son just does not want you to know why?
Call the warden ask him
