ok so i’m planning on taking a trip during the entire month of january around cali to check out most of the csu campuses. If I eat mostly fast food/church dinners/food I bring w/…ASIDE from these expenses…assuming the car gets 28 mpg, gas “will be” 3.50 & starting in the palmdale/lancaster area working my way up, then back down to san diego, then back home, and also assuming I sleep in the car or guest dorms, plus peripheral expenses such as soap/clotheswash& souvenirs along the way, etc averaging 25/ week in central & northern & 75 a week in southern
ok……so for all u math wizzes out there……..how much TOTAL should this trip cost me? Please, only if you know. Thanks. (=

The answer is E: Not enough information.
You didn’t mention which of the “most” CSU campuses you wild be visiting. Does that include Davis? SF State? SD State? Enquring minds need to know this. The trip could easily be over 1000 miles, close to 1500. Let’s say you go 1000 miles, divide by 28 mpg, that’s about 36 gallons. Multiply that times 3.50, and that’s $126 in gas alone. Are you sure you can get 28 mpg? Sounds a little high to me.
Food will cost $5-$10 per meal. Figure $20 per day for food. It won’t be healthy, but you won’t die right away, either. $20 per day for a month is $600.
Sleeping in your car or guest dorms, you would save on lodging. It might be good to also check out the state campgrounds, where you can grab a shower.
Overall, I would say you could probably survive on $1000 for the month.
Oh, and I would take a remedial math class. You should have learned how to do this in HS.
Sorry! There is no way possible to give you a relatively correct estimate because there are too many variables involved some of which you have not included.
