The thing with puppies in the paper is you never know what you are going to get. They could have parvo ( a terribly fatal disease), worms, fleas ect... You may end up spending hundreds in the long run. There are plenty of reputable shelters filled full of puppies. At the shelters they check the puppies for all the things I mentioned and more. You know that you are bringing home a puppy that is healthy and clean. A lot of shelters will also help you with the cost of spaying and neutering as well.
